mornings at warner brothers..

"I love the sweet smell of dawn -
our unique daily opportunity to smell time,
to smell opportunity -
each morning being, a new beginning."
~Terri Guillemets

Every Morning during the week day I get up at 4am and get home around 8pm... My days are long and I would rather stay up late then wake up early however I am blessed with both sunset and sunrise every day. I marvel at the colors in the sky as I watch the world wake up and the night slowly leave us behind. Watching the world wake up is amazing. At WB before I start work I wander around to find a place to drink my coffee.I can go to Chicago, New York, midwest, the jungle, and I do..I do something different and enjoy the peacefulness of drinking my coffee somewhere new everyday.

life with a house, dog,job, and band...(smile)

My crazy life continues..Last week I went to the Viper Room with my Petree Band friends to help them sell t-shirts ect. It was extremely fun to have new friends from Warner Brothers come and hear the band play. I was never the person who knew about up&coming bands, and even today if you ask me who played a certain song I will not know. Working for a band is the last place I ever thought I'd end up but I love it! Introducing your favorite band to friends and finding out that they LOVE the music too is sooo mind blowing... So anyway Wednesday I went to the Viper Room, then I went to work at my new postion on the Lot at Warner Bros. (no sleep)After work, I went straight home, changed and went to the WIRE where Petree Rocked the house again..After the show I went home and slept 4 hours(that was my first sleep since tuesday night..) and then got up to go to work again.. When I got home friday I was exhausted and played with Buddy, watched house, and went to bed! I am hopeing to buy a car this week, once I do that my hours will not be so insane.Party of what made those days so crazy was my commute viva public trans..

Petree has a lot of gigs coming up and I am looking forward to spending my nights listening to my favorite people playing electrifying music! Hopefully some of you will come check them out!

my big baby..

So...Buddy is a 5 year old dog. He's getting gray around the chin but he is very much my big baby. Having him back in the USA has been an adjustment. No more sleeping in, I have to get up and let him out in the morning..And once I'm up its pretty hard for me to go back to sleep, so I normally end up making coffee and toss the tennis ball for him a bit. Luckily, I was able to stay home with him the first couple days as he adjusts to livin here. He knows his boundaries and that he has to sit when the front door opens or if he wants to go out. Today was the real test though, I had to leave him to go to church. The big baby saw me get my shoes and thought it meant we were going for a walk. He sat really nicely by the front door and wagged his tail. It broke my heart to see him sitting at the window watching us leave the house, get in the car and drive away. Talk about me being a mama, I definetly had seperation anxiety.Worried that he was gonna think I was abandoning him in this crazy new place. When I got home, he was sitting at the window and he was fine. Very excited to see me, but he was fine..So life continues, just with a bit more tug-a-war,fetch, and a little less sleep..But its all good:)

blessings...

"May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."
~Irish Blessing

My Newphew was born on the 2! He's a 9pound baby boy named Michael..Future African Hunter,I can't wait to meet him sometime in the future.. His big sister, Ruthie, will have to take photos of him for me..Good thing, I taught her how to do that at 4 months..Lots of Goodness coming from Africa-I mean my nephew and my Dog just maded the global treck from Cameroon to San Diego by plane via bestest friend a girl could have, Beth stoker...And awesomest coworker Robyn for driving to San Diego to pick him up with me..Those are the TWO BIGGEST BLESSING I can think of right now..But going along with the Irish Blessing let me see what I can do..

Work for Hands to do:
I am not at Warner Brothers this week so I started a quilt and am continuing our garden project in our back yard..

Pockets..
My pockets don't have many coins but God takes care of me..

Sunshine:
The sun is shinning outside today which it wasn't doing yesterday. I spent most the day outside soaking in it's rays..

Rainbows:
Didn't see any rainbows yesterday when we were in San Diego-but just cuz we don't see a rainbow doesn't mean its not there..We're just looking from the wrong angle..(hmmmmmmmm, like much of life?)

Hand of a Friend:
Even though I am not at Warner Brothers this week I did stop in on my way to San Diego with some friends.Going to work and getting hugs from new employees, old employees, and having good conversations with people who aren't even from my department just brighten my day. Have to say friends that love you enough to travel with your 85 pound Dog from Africa to San Diego, means a lot? Thats quite a friend:) And having a new friend be willing to drive to San Diego after her shift at work is also amazing.. I am blessed with great people in my life, a good dog to follow me around, and an Amazing God to love me..

Though what fills my future is unknown may I always face each as an adventure instead of a trial..

Thanks to all you people who make living so much fun..

weekends at home..

When I am home its mostly on the weekends and the collective "we" like to hang out. This is either by cooking and eating together, or climbing trees, picking fruit, or watching movies. I love being home with my "family"

Last weekend we climbed trees, picked fruit, and watched tv..
This weekend so far we made and ate homemade African food-yum yum yum.

I really love my weekends at home..

Push starting Trams, and scavenger hunts..

Two weeks of training at Warner Brothers are complete. We start testing on Monday, and then we graduate or fail. Either way the experience is worth all the studying, and lack of sleep. I love going to work and training this past week was a once and a life time experience. I literally got to run around Warner Brother's studio's back and front lots looking for clues during a scavenger hunt. I ran in and out of sets,up and down stairs, under and inside buildings. IT was a blast. Then yesterday we were using a tram that was defective and had to push start it every time it stopped so our solution was: don't stop. By the end of our turns driving we were giggling, and crying from the craziness.I am blessed to have so much fun at work. Not many people have the chance to play at work not to mention at Movie studio.

Not only has training good but it the new hires are great. I love the new people that got hired for my training class. I can't wait to hang out and know them more. I do have to say that our training groups have bonded more then most work places do and we are quite attached.

Below are some photos of us during training:)

PARTY love

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts. ~Author Unknown

PAryTy? Um...yes..we had a party at our new house. We continued the noren TRADITION by having Pizza(thank you mommy for teaching me how to bake, cook, and host)..We had people everywhere and the Petree girls running around playing with blocks and jumping on our beds.( having kids around really make a house feel like a REAL home-LOVE IT)
Really, I didn't sit down too much but I enjoyed getting to see and hug lots of people that are important to me. It made my heart warm knowing that some people drove a long way to come celebrate w/ us and just getting and giving hugs was good. It was sweet and I think the house is well on its way to being warmed up this coming year. We are building a family and I think we are all nuts;it's wonderful!
